Elf shoppers and applicants all smile after successful trips to buy toys for their children! Thanks to Kallie Kirby, Christy and Taylor Kirk, and Shawna Hunt who helped Clara Doores, Unique McNair, Brittany McCaleb, and Heather Dills in 2016! And sisters Yvonne Baker and Sara Seaton shop for their children with The Elf Project.
Comments from Applicants:
I am so grateful to the Elf Project. I have gone through some very trying times lately and they were there to lift me up in my time of need.
The people who shopped with me made me feel like a real person. They were so kind and treated me with respect. Because of their generosity I was able to give my children a Christmas they deserve.
Thank you so much Elf Project! It made me feel so happy to see my children’s faces on Christmas morning!
I don’t know what I would have done without the Elf Project this year. I was really starting to get ahead and then had several setbacks. I didn’t know how I was going to give my kids a Christmas this year and then Elves stepped in. I can’t thank you enough.
My experience with the Elf Project was awesome! I was allowed to shop for my children and that gave me sense of pride, like I was not just taking a handout from someone but I was getting to have a say in what my kids got. Thanks.
People from the Elf Project are angels. I was truly blessed this year because of you.
The Elf Project helped me give my son a Christmas he would not have gotten this year. They met me at Walmart and let ME do the shopping. I was able to pick out things for my son that he asked Santa for. He will never know that it was you that bought the stuff for him instead of Santa but I will. Thank you. May God bless.
I met the lady who shopped with me at Walmart and I didn’t know what to expect, I was actually a little scared. She was so nice and made me feel really comfortable. She let me pick out stuff for my kids and I was really happy.
Working and going to school is very hard, plus paying all the bills. Having the Elf Project to help me this year took a lot of stress off. Thank you for all your help.
Comments from Shoppers:
Applicant child has disabilities and Mom was excited about a plush caterpillar the child could wrap around herself. Great experience!
Mom picked out some really fun toys and I believe they will be very happy! We were even careful to make sure they would have the same number of gifts to open and each had a “big gift.” I definitely remember squabbles at Christmas with a sibling! We also picked out wrapping paper and bows so she is all set when she gets home. She sincerely told me that I had made her kids’ Christmas. Thank you for connecting me with this family and allowing me to help.
The Elf Project is truly a blessing to the families AND the volunteers. I’m thankful I got to experience families in this program and participate this year.
This was a really great experience for me. Got the Christmas spirit going but also reminded me how fortunate our family has been over the years.
Mother had just gotten off her 15 hr. work shift and I know she was tired, but she was pleasant and fun and knew exactly what we were looking for and where to find it. We found all the things her children were hoping for and spent an enjoyable hour shopping. Again this year, we were touched and humbled by the experience and as always I cried all the way to the car. We are thankful that we were chosen to play a small roll in their holiday joy. For us, The Elf Project is one of the best parts of Christmas.
We have just returned from our Elf Project shopping adventure. My parent was very nice and very appreciative. We met at Walmart and got Santa things for her children. We will be thinking about her and her boys on Christmas morning. Thank you for the opportunity to be part of their Christmas.
Susie said she just wanted to get them some small things so they’ll have a happy Christmas, nothing real fancy or expensive and talked about how grateful she was for this help. I understand how she feels, truly, and I just wanted to thank you for giving me a small role in helping you help people.
I met with my parent yesterday afternoon and had such a good time meeting her and picking out toys for her son. I feel so blessed that I was able to help her and her son this holiday season.
Thank you for allowing me to volunteer this year. It was a wonderful and humbling experience!
I just wanted to let you know that I completed my shopping today and it was a great experience. We bought toys and stockings for her three grand-daughters and I am excited for her to get them. I was blessed to be able to be involved and learn about their story. I got to go in and meet the girls at the end of the night; they did not know what she was out doing. I would love to be a donor and shopper next year! Please keep my contact information! Let me know if you need anything else!
We had an awesome time – such a nice family that has had some really tough times lately. They shopped carefully, trying to find things that Kallie had asked for, and it was fun to have mom’s input as they picked things out.
A little five year old girl who has been taken away from her mother and had nothing to her name was put in the arms of a loving and safe home. This year will be her first real Christmas. The family who took her in is so kind and excited to show this little girl what Christmas is all about. The Elf Project was able to provide a doll, several accessories and a couple games to put under the Christmas tree. The family who took her in was so blessed and thankful for the help. They have had to purchase so much already for her that getting some help for Christmas meant a lot. This is what the Elf Project is all about!
